I am modelling a shock simulation. I want to give external excitation to the exterior of my body which I thought can be done by coupling a point to the exterior and applying acceleration to that point. See the figure attached.

This is very much possible in Abaqus.

But in Ansys, there is no such option to excite the point (with an acceleration) coupled with the body. How do I apply acceleration to just the outer covering of the geometry? As I want to see the response of the innermost body, I don't want to apply acceleration to the entire geometry.

There is a method for applying Force on the outer part in Ansys. Will applying Force give me the same results?

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
