We should firstly understand what teaching style is. In my mind, teaching style refers to conceptual behavior of a teacher in fitting his way of making his teaching satisfaction for both his students and himself. For this to remember that there is no best method or style in the teaching process, there is only an ideal method or style for each situation of the teaching and learning process. I always find my teaching style precisely from my students and situation at the time of my teaching.

Regarding to the teaching philosophy, we should refer to what a philosophy is. It is a love of wisdom. The wise values impressed in the teaching and learning process. When my students get those values then my teaching should be considered as having philosophical values. In this way, an educating and teaching process should be in balance when I am performing my teaching in both inside and outside of the classroom. Again, teaching philosophy is an art of changing learners' cognitive behavior whilst education philosophy is an art of changing the good learners' deeds.

Teaching style and teaching Philosophy are different but your teaching style can lead to your level of teaching philosophy. teaching style is based on all methods and Technics used to  help students guessing important knowledge in what you are teaching. teaching philosophy is based on what you want your students to acquire in your teaching subject. these two concepts one complete another in teaching process.

My take on it is: that the inquiry about teaching philosophy refer more to the inner core fundamentals or principles a person comes from when they teach. The teaching style refer more to the external portrait of that philosophy. And they should compliment one another. As an example; if one of the core fundamental of a teacher is that they love people; it should somehow be portray in the style they teach. If a teacher doesn't love people then maybe they need to look for a different profession...

I think your teaching style is the way you teach. Your teaching philosophy is why you teach the way you teach and what you hope to accomplish by your teaching. As long as the way you teach is effective and you've given careful thought to why you teach as you do and what you hope to achieve, you can't go wrong by answering honestly.

As someone who has been teaching at the university level for 40 years, and who trained to be a secondary teacher prior  to that, I've answered these questions about my own philosophy and style in many interviews. I also have been on the opposite side on many search committees. I would agree with Kirk MacGregor that you need to answer honestly, after thinking about why you went into teaching, and how you approach it. Since there are many ways to be an effective teacher, no one can really answer the question for you, but you should be able to come to an answer by reflecting on your own goals as well as what you want for your students.

Basically, a teaching philosophy is your overarching vision or beliefs about teaching, while your teaching style involves the ways in which you make your philosophy manifest, or put it into practice. For example, let's say you have a philosophy that students learn best through active involvement with the material (a hands on approach). If that is the case, then your style should reflect that philosophy, perhaps by being interactive with your students, encouraging discussion, focusing on experiential applied learning, or any of the ways one can engage students in their own learning and thus increase student learning outcomes. Different philosophies suggest different styles of teaching.

I agree with the colleagues above. Briefly:

the style is HOW you keep the scene, your "character" in the big theater of the school

the philosophy is WHAT you want to teach, behind the teaching program

There is no a correct or wrong way to answer, in my view. different teaching Styles and Philosophies are required, depending on the environment, the level of attention and and the approach of the students, etc.

So I would just answer honestly, describing yourself as you are.

I completely agree with Kirk MacGregor and wouldn't want to repeat what she/he has written about this subject matter, however I wish to mention that teaching should be enjoyed by both the teacher and the students through interactive sessions not intended to intimidate the students. Most students don't learn much when they feel intimidated by the teacher. So my believe is that teachers should strive to create a conducive learning atmosphere in which students are free to express themselves through asking questions about what they do not understand.

Teaching should be accompanied by good language coordination from the teacher no matter in what language the teacher teaches and what subject is being taught. When the students know they'll learn, for instance, new English language words and sentences from the teacher, they'll always want to pay attention to detail in what is being taught. For me, I have a consumer-oriented teaching style in which I strive for students to get the best possible product.
