I am working on a bi-objective optimization problem of an optimal placement of a weather radar network. The objectives are to minimize the distances to roads and power grids and minimize the beam blockage factor. How to perform an analysis on the obtained results?
There are a few ways. The e-constraint method is good if your model can be solved exactly and quickly. The e-constraint method will provide a 2D Pareto frontier (i.e curve).
You can choose the solution that is closest to the utopia point if you like.
Thank you Robert for your suggestion. I am solving this problem using evolutionary multi-objectives optimization algorithms (NSGA-II, MOPSO) due to the complexity of the problem. As you know these methods provides an approximation to the true Pareto front and I am looking for ideas outside the ususal performances metrics to check the quality of the solutions. I will be happy to send you a draft of the paper I am writting to give you a better idea about the problem at hand. Thank you for your help once again.
