How to adding prestress under local coordinate in ABAQUS?

Hi all,

I want to adding prestress under cylindrical coordinate as a function of R and sita, can Abaqus do that?

For example, how to add constant radial pressure as prestress to a ring in Abaqus?

Hi,

You can create datum cylindrical coordinate system and assign corresponding material orientation (Property module: Assign–>Material Orientation). Then initial stresses will be defined in this cylindrical CS.
