Dear Kirti, your research question is very broad. Unfortunately, this pandemic influences the whole world, and the same scenario applies to every other developing country in the world. It's important for students to use their resources (internet, computers, discussion with the subject head) to find out what they really want to pursue in life. I also don't know about the rules and regulations regarding the COVID 19 in your country, however, I feel everyone will get a fair chance in selecting the subjects most suitable for their possible career, as soon as restrictions are lowered, and everything turns back to normal.

I heard of student who have dropped out because they were told all classes on line until further notice, including the next school year. Apparently they felt they could learn as much off of the internet without having to pay tuition fees, room and board, etc. I have no ready answer, except to persevere.

Thanks for your valuable response Dr. Neethling. I agree that this pandemic is affecting the whole world and we wish to that everythingwill turn back in its original place soon . But if keeping eyes on present scenarios and limiting myself to education sector, the its big problem in this country for especially middle class and lower middle class families, labour market and their children studies too. As parents are also worried about their children future and career also( parents of target youth 12th students) . Those who are preparing for IIT's and IIM's , Due to lock down in since past three months and near future also no competitive exams has been announced in India. Comparing present situation they might have been choosen their college too. But yet no guidelines about it.

I want to analyze the impact of it on their near life???

Dr. Ordog, I agree with your view point. also i have seen few parents with same issues that their wards are uncomfortable with Digital sessions and facing problems with technical problems as the lower middle class were not having such expensive gadgets ( hardware issues) Secondarily, lack of software skills. Hence, increasing tensions with this pandemic situations and new subject handling alththey wanted to pursue their career in the desirèd field but ultimately dropping the choosen subjects.

Kirti, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted on every sector of human life, including, not least, education (primary, secondary and tertiary). Schools, colleges and universities have had to be closed because of the lockdown measures, come classes have had to be cancelled altogether or, where technologies allow, delivered via online methods. Exams have had to be called off or administered online and teachers, learners and parents and carers have had to adapt to the new normal. Interesting times.

Hi! I thinks counselling with the students would help to deal with this recent pandemic that leads to frustration among them to further their studies or careers. The is no way but need constant motivations from their parents at home and educational institutions that can help them to stand firm to think of furthering their education either through familiarizing with digital tools or getting training on how to adapt with digital platform. Since most students have poor internet connectivity and have no capacity to provide themselves proper equipment for online learning, they find it difficult to continue to study. However, if schools would allow modular approach to learning, then students may have an option to pursue their studies.

The best way to reduce the stress for young people is to help them know who they are. Self awareness is the key to making good decisions about their future. Deciding which subjects to take should come from a knowledge of their skills, strengths, interests, passions and values. Once they know these they can work back to which subjects suit them best for their futures. This works in any context, culture or country.
