I am analyzing a complex geometry in Abaqus. My model consists of some sharp corners, so it not gives me convergent results for this regions (i.e. as the mesh size decreases the stress in this regions increases with no bound). My analysis type is static and should be in elastic region.
My question is: which mesh size will give me the true value of the stress in the singular regions?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
I suggest you to use smaller size element at the closer boundary stress corner point and aspect ratio of one give better results. If the material properties assigned to the software program is correct then better do some trial analysis with varying mesh size. By doing trial analysis you will know which mesh size is giving a realistic stress value. I suggest you to read any good finite element theory book by R.D. Cook or any other finite element model related books.

If such stress hot spot method is used for standard FEA case, is there any proper method to interpolate the stress results similar to done in the given document?
