The SEM image of a silicon-carbon material is shown below. The morphology is very unigue. How it can be formed? Is there similar morphologies in any references?
I have seen a structure similar to this before from a researcher using organic materials in spray-drying. This sort of structure seems to be a hollow sphere that collapses in a fast drying process (it is much like shriveling a ball). Although it is just a suggestion. Your process of fabricating such material, the sample preparation for SEM, etc...
