To start PMSM motor we need initial rotor position of PMSM drive to have sequential supply, in order to avoid magnetic locking. But how sensor less PMSM starts without knowing rotor position?
You can use the current injection technique wherein you push some d axis current and provide your own angle to perform the transformations. The angle should vary slowly so that the synchronization between the rotor pole and stator pole is not lost, also the machine shouldn't have any load. Later on, as the machine picks up speed you can switch on to any back-emf based sensorless control strategy.
