For Panalytical X-Pert Pro XRD machine, there are 3 parameters are in play, step time, scan rate, and scan speed. Can anyone help me to get the relationship between these three? Like how can I calculate scan speed using step time and scan rate?
whereas the 'step time' (= time interval for the acquisition of the detector signal in e.g. [s]) and the 'scan speed' (= scan angle in theta per time interval e.g. in [deg/s]) are quite intuitive, there is nearly no information on how the 'scan rate' is defined.
Nevertheless in an manual (written by Scott. A. Speakman) I found the 'scan rate':
According to page 10 unfortunately this term covers both, the 'step time' and the 'scan speed' and is apparently a synonym for the duration of the total measurement time (total acquisition time) of the XRD pattern.
'step time' * 'number of steps' = 'total acquisition time'
