We have pooled blood plasma from different donors for laboratory experiments. We plan to store that for long term use. Could you please suggest what is the suitable way to store it, without its components getting denatured? Currently we are doing it at -80 degrees. Wanted to seek your expert opinion if anyone of you are dealing with same.

Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) is a standard product of blood bank. I hope that following information will be helpful.

After -80 C, below temperatures are -172 C i.e. Liquid Nitrogen ( Easily available commercially) . On this temperature you can store your Plasma up to 9 years. Even below at the temperate -2730 C i.e. Absolute Zero, you can store the plasma as long as you wish without any deterioration of its components but it is difficult to make available this temperature commercially .
