I had some CV and cycling test for my battery half-cells.
In the CV tests, they were reversible and performed very well.
But during the rate performance and the cycling test, they ran only at a low C-rate (0.1C and 0.2C). At 1C and 5C they did not work anymore.
I thought when the cells perform good in CV test, they also work well in cycling test.
Is it possible a result? Or did I sth wrong? (I did 3 times the experiment)
Maybe some of the preparation parameter(s), the grain size and the (carbon ?) content (%/w), of one (or both) of the composite electrode(s), is not (very well) optimized.
I think you should check should repeat CV after changing concentration of electrolyte. Also cathode should precited
This can be explained from the measure the values of charge and discharge and their stabilities. Which can be done by putting the composite electrode into electrolyte free of composite electrode and cycle it many cycles more than 100 cycles (for example) and measure the charge and discharge values from integrate current vs. time. If the results of charge and discharge is stable or there is very low decrease it means this battery is good. While the sharp decrease in the values of charge and discharge inducting to not good battery. Actually, there are many factors effect on the stability of charge and discharge process in the battery such as the composite of the electrode, the type of electrolyte, the viscosity of electrolyte, pH, the pore size of the deposited film on the electrode, and the size of the species
