I am trying to grow bacterial cells in human plasma to test for sRNA differential expression. But the company I bought plasma from said that the complement degrades almost immediately and that my experimental design is flawed. I want to know just how quickly it degrades when thawed on ice after being frozen in -80. Thus far I haven't found anything. If anyone knows how to extend complement life or has any ideas, please let me know! Thanks!

Disclaimer: I am using Innovative Research to buy plasma and they have been a great company to interact with- they just can't answer my questions in this regard.
