I have synthesized a polycrystalline solid using a solid state reaction method and refined the XRD data using FULLPROOF software.
There aren't agreement indices of reference for the Rietveld refinement. They strictly depend on the experimental conditions of the data collection (synchrotron, in house X-ray diffraction, the time per step, the wavelenght you used with respect to the composition of the sample..). Sometimes you have very good indices but a completely wrong refinement. The first parameter you can use to decide if the refinement is good is the visual comparison between the experimental and calculated pattern.
It depends. The R-value(s) are one of several quality of fit indicators that you need to consider in evaluating whether your refined model is a good for to the data.
