Mathematical analysis, its concepts or results, is key in the development of mathematical models to describe or predict the behavior of elements of our world. And so, we could continue describing the role played by the different branches of mathematics in human thought, the development of knowledge or the interpretation of the world. For all this, mathematical knowledge, along with that of other disciplines such as literature, philosiphy or history, for example, must be part of the general culture that should promote a quality education system.
Since all mathematical patterns are subject to logic, studying and learning about patterns in Maths will indeed have some effect on your overall logical thinking abilities. If you'd like to improve general logic abilities, then try a more general field of Maths.
