I have been using eQTL to look at GWAS candidates for several years, but recently ran across a situation where it appeared that genetic candidates were implicating ubiquitination activity. This started me wondering how we might approach the problem of linking variants to effects on ubiquitination. Generally, we use some form of abundance as the quantitative trait, but I'm not sure what this means in this case.

So, perhaps my questions is really how do you quantitate ubiquitination, and can it be done "high" throughput?
