Dear All,
I would like to model a masonry shear wall in Abaqus. The hardest part is to model the material behavior. I was planning on using a "Simplified micro-mechanical model" also known as micro-macro model in which the bricks are seperated by interface elements.
Does Abaqus provide standard material models for masonry? In literature I read a lot about UMAT, is it hard to write such a script?
You can try to download the freeware/open source NOSA-ITACA code developed by our laboratory. It uses the constitutive equation of masonty-like materials and is developed to study the static and dynamic behavoir of masory structures.
