During the work on hydrocarbons, catalyst deactivation takes place after some time due to the deposition of carbon over catalysts. In which way carbon can be eliminated? In which form the deposited carbon exist?
It takes form as an oxydation reaction with hot air which gasifies carbon in CO. It can be done also with water vapor and/ or carbon dioxyde in a fixed or fluidised reactor. Temperatures should be 400 - 500 °F and pressure between 20 - 40 psia.
