There are 2 types of hypothesis in research
1.Null Hypothesis (Researchers main claim for his research if he proves that the Null hypothesis is said to be accepted and if he is unable to prove his claim the Null hypothesis is said to be rejected and automatically 2 will be accepted that is below.
2.Alternative Hypothesis
Basically there are two types of Hypotheses as discussed by other authors. NULL Hypothesis and Alternative Hypothesis. These are used to test statistical significance. Also known as statistical hypothesis. Under alternative hypothesis there are two sub-hypothesis comes i.e. one-tailed and two-tailed. According to your research question, you have to mention what kind of alternative hypothesis you want...
Generally it is decided/written on the basis of objective of study/research. According to your research question, you may write your hypothesis. For example:
1. I want to know the mean effect of systolic blood pressure between two groups (may be between treatment group and control group). The null hypothesis will be " there is no difference in SBP between both the groups"
2. I want to see association between two parameters i.e. serum Albumin and HDL. My null hypothesis will be " There is no association between these two parameters"
