As we are doing the spray of 0.5% Zinc Sulfate in different crops but how many liters water is required to make uniform application of Zinc spray in 1 hactare area of crop ?. Is foliar application solution quantity also vary with crop geometry ?.
Yes , off course , solution quantity will be hugely dependent upon the crop geometry including annual or perennial crops. How can you answer this question , its full of so many ifs and buts.. But one thing is for sure , efforts should be to cover the whole canopy of the plant , preferably avoiding the sun and high temperature . We should also consider the crop phenological stage for foliar application to be exercised...
0.5 per cent means 0.5 gm of ZnSO4 in 100 ml water or 5 gm in 1 litre of water...in general , quantity of water used may be around 500-700 litre of water..it means, 2500 gm or 2.5 kg ZnSO4 in 500 L water.. although it vary with plant population as whole foliage must be wetted during application for better result.. if sprayer has volume of 20 litre water, then we have to use 125 gm of ZnSO4, mix it and apply it...by this , we can assume how many plants may be covered by this Kuch amount of solution.. according, we can calculate amount of water for hectare or acre ...
Power sprayers (Low volume spraying) needs 60 litres per ha while hand operated sprayer (backpack / knapsack- High Volume Spraying ) needs 500 litres per ha. Boom sprayers need still more. The quantum of water decides the requirementof ZnSO4.
