I meant COM mucosal type. Everyone does PTA before doing tympanoplasty. My question is related to the test for the conventional CSOM - TTD
Usually in COM we do not get Tympanometry done in our institution. We test the patency of the eustachian tube by other methods. Where we have got some doubt about the presence of perforation in the tympanic membrane or where we can not ascertain about the patency of the eustachian tube by other methods, we ask for tympanometry before going for tympanoplasty.
Normal Eustachian tube function is very important contributing factor for a successful graft in tympanoplasty. In our centre we do check Estachian tube function before tympanoplasty is done
