Since, gluconic acid/2-ketogluconic acid is produced via oxidation of glucose using PQQ dependant GDH and GaDH. Gluconic acid/2-ketogluconic acid are known as principal organic acids responsible for P solubilisation, but there are other quoted organic acids as well. I want to understand how other organic acids are produced by Gram negative bacteria and what genes/enzymes are responsible for producing acidification in the outside environment? The basic nature of chelating cations by the protons released by these acids i understand, but i want to know the detailed story behind other organic acids apart from gluconic acid
