I have to study suction caisson-soil interaction in static and dynamic behavior. Initially I want to model static interaction and study failure condition, like vertical and horizontal bearing capacity. The first step, after the initial one by ABAQUS defaul, is geostatic step. I have a 3D soil body, my question is:

How define load for geostatic step? Load type:gravity, I select total soil body, but the magnitude in Z direction (this is depht for me) is the gravity acceleration and after ABAQUS multiplies this value with soil density, that I defined in material properties, or the magnitude is simply specific gravity?

Moreover how consider the caisson embedded in soil? I have to create interfaces but, for geostatic analysis, I don't want interaction between them. So I have to create Surface to surface interfaces with no friction?

After geostatic step I have load step and here there is interaction. So I have to create "Interface 1" for geostatic step with no friction, etc (no interaction) and "Interface 2" for load step with friction, etc (interaction)?

Obviously geostatic step is the initial condition for load step.

If someone responds to message will be very helpful for me.
