As we all know, after transcription, proBNP is post-translationally glycosylated and cleaved to BNP and NT-proBNP in equimolar fashion by furin. There must be a process ,so i think BNP will take some time to elevate in AHF attack like myocardial enzymes takes some hours to elevate in myocardial infarction. The key question is how long? This is very clinical .I have read many literatures but no answers.
