What if we drink a little and then keep the bottle closed for weeks or even months? If we can drink this after a month or longer period, why there is an expiry date labeled on the bottle?
Considering a moderate room condition, and a dry place for storing the bottles.

My guess is the expiry date has more to do with the packaging material(bottle) and not the water.
This is somewhat interesting; which is basically depends upon the type of processes the water undergoes before get into the packet; most of them were under hygienic and computerized too; UV, RO addition to that there are several processes are taken to prevent living organisms in it, spores, removal of elements too take in to consideration.
did i ask is these things are good for health?
some of the retailers who adopt some sort of chemical purification and addition or removal of some elements in it and add taste to water with chemical combinations; this will be highly toxic to all even to the nature itself;
whenever there is an chemical input in anything which will make us feel bad one day.

There are three main reasons for the expiry date
1. Microbial Growth: Storing in room temperature with certain source of heat development and or sunlight may enhance growth of molds algae, algae, protozoa, and other pathogens.
2. Freshness: Storing water for prolonged period in polymers may act on water freshness and you may loose real feeling of drinking fresh water.
3.Chemical Migration: Since most of the bottles used to pack the water is made up of polyethylene products. Therefore leaching of chemicals and migration of chemicals to the water is likely due to permeable nature.,
If it is stored in refrigerator without direct sunlight or any sources that produce heat or warm to water we can prolong the all aforementioned factors for some more time. However the cold conditions also act with polymers and still it creates chemical migration to the water.
