How long should you autoclave 5 liters of liquid?

How long should you autoclave 5 liters of liquid such as Buffered Peptone Water or Saline? We use room temperature distilled water and work on 15 minutes at 121 degrees Celsius for 1 Liter (Manufacturers instructions) and then add 5 minutes per additional 1 liter. I come to 35 minutes for 5 Liters but I've seen some websites that show more than an hour which seems extreme.
