Often I am thinking about the viability of the tissues in PBS after dissecting before fixing or staining to know how it affects my readouts. especially for live staining, tissues need to be alive and there needs to be defined time window for these steps.

In humans, we define organ viabilities by cold/warm ischemic times. Can anyone throw some light on drosophila tissues and the tricks to keep them viable during experiments?
