It very much depends on the journal and publishers - and especially on the amount of 'copy' the journal already has. It can just be a week or two. Of course author proofs are the first stage and the earlycite 'in press' versions are the last and later stage. There will be various delay periods between them as well as from acceptance. Look to the 'early view'/'in press' links of the journal. If they already have a lot of back-copy i.e. enough to already fill several future volumes - then there is no hurry for them . It may take longer to receive proof and earlycite versions from them.
