I have been synthesizing peptides on resin beads. I am wondering what best storage method is there to store the beads after synthesis before cleaving. And how long can they be stored in that condition. Thank you.
Storage conditions are always based on stability of product , and its half life , Freeze drying is a good way store but it also depends on the product you have .
usually with the protecting groups still on the peptide , you can dry the resin , then it can be stored for long time. differenly, if you have free amines or other nucleophils on the peptide, the stability will be very limited.
I keep dry resin with protected peptides at room temperature (with N-terminal protection). Some peptides synthesized with Boc chemistry (Merrifield) resin were ok after 15 years.
