I plan to monitor the effect of NH4Cl on the phagosomal process of eukaryotic cells infected by bacteria.
Most of the literature found on this kind of experiment indicates that a pre-treatment is applied on the cell culture, and then the effect is measured either right after washing, or a few hours later.
I am thus wondering if it is possible to see an effect up to 24h (or more) after the NH4Cl treatment?

I have treated endothelial cell with NH4Cl for 24 hours for autophage but do not know whether that can work in your bacterial phagocytosis or not.
