In some papers, I found they did real time PCR to check introns or (exon - intron) expression level for some genes using cDNA as template.

The cDNA is generated by RNA extraction and followed by reverse transcription PCR.

cDNA should be the coding regions sequence without intron sequence. How can it be possible that they did real time PCR to check intron expression level with cDNA as template?

Many thanks.
