In materials science for the synthesis of batteries of lithium, the functionalization of nanoparticles with Li (carbonate of LI, Li-O, etc.), We want to establish a exactly quantity of Li in the nanocomposite. Maybe with elemental analysis thermal, TGA, DSC, XPS,..., etc... What do you think?
There are many techniques like ICP-MS, AES and XPS.

XPS with the chemical concentration chart can solve your problem...
If your product is totally soluble in 2% Nitric acid, you can easily do ICP. It will give you exact Li concentration. If it is not soluble, I heard about solid ICP but dont know about the detail.
[I]The dried Li2CO3 is subjected to the phase and thermal analysis by TGA[ Preferably Pt crucibles) where the samples of (10+1.5 mg) were measured in the temperature range of 25-1090C at the rate of 20C/mt in the atmosphere of N2. Below 700C, TTGA curves are smooth with hardly any mass change.
[II]Now note the mass of Li2CO3 sample just below 725C and go on increasing the temperature at 20C/mt till 1090-1100C,e. g. CONSTANT WEIGHT. The % of Li in the sample is calculated as:
Li2CO3=Li2O+CO2

Suppose the wt loss is 6 mg from the total wt of 10 mg of SAMPLE of Li2CO3
Then% loss due to the the loss of CO2=6/10.100=60
If Li2CO3 were cent percent pure, the loss should have been=44/72.100= 61.11.
So the sample of Li2CO3 is 60/61.11.100=98.184% pure.
Or 10 mg of the sample contains=98.184/10.100= 9.8184 mg of pure Li2CO3.
So amount of Li in the sample is=12/72.9.8184=1.6364 mg.
If Li bearing minerals seperated from bulk of the rock, can be dissolved
by weak nitric asid ( or nitric + chloric asid) then ICP MS is the most proper way to analyse.
