I want to use a four electrode configuration in order to characterize the ion exchange membrane which is located between a two-cell compartment. There must be four electrodes including two Pt as working and counter electrodes and two Ag/AgCl as references.
I want to scan the potential between two references and record the current between the working and counter. Does anyone know how I should connect the electrodes to the potential state and how it must be programmed?
The 4 electrodes potentiostat have 2 references electrodes, called macro and micro reference electrodes. If you want I can send you the electrical design and how to use.

This is the design of our equipment. The main idea to use 2 reference electrodes is for avoid noise from your sample or preparation. the microreference electrode must be located close to the working electrode and macroreference "far" from working electrode. Both electrodes are electronically "subtracted" and the total noise should decrease.
