@ Michel: the technology to recycle PV modules already exists. Again it is up to governments to make this mandatory.

Solar power is not bad for the environment. It produces free energy without generating greenhouse gases. However, to produce and dispose of solar panels (cradle to grave analysis) may be a problem.
