As many places around the world experiencing natural disaster and calamities from recent past, how we should have to develop some better techniques which are able to reduce the exploitation of natural things and also we can get information about the calamities much before the occurrence.
The best synthetic answer that can be given to such difficult and far reaching question is "more of the same", in the sense that current tendencies (rates of change, therefore, not absolute values) are not going to be much different from what we have seen in recent decades, at least until the middle (or even the end) of the current century. Which means global temperature on a further increase (between one and two degrees by the end of the century, if not more) and more and more intense weather extremes.
This is what the best available models are telling us. Therefore, adaptation is, in the short-term, by far our best bet.
Detailed, deterministic prediction of weather extremes and their consequences is, however, a completely different story...
I agree with Stefano's answer. I see the trends of the last century continuing with periods of sharp increase and periods of decrease. One to two degrees seems to be the best answer, and adaptation the best bet.
