Indian context is quite different from that in the western world. Yet what is taught in business schools in India is Western management. That knowledge of an MBA works to a good extent in India. But it does not work in all work situations including managing the grass-root level workers and those working in the unorganized sector in India. Three HR models prominently known to be working in the western world are: 1. the Best practice (soft) model; and 2. the Instrumentalist (hard) model; and 3. The Resource-based (mixed) view model.

Kindly share your views on the applicability of these models in managing HR in Indian context, including researches conducted, if any.
