What do you hope to see with FTIR at this point?

The extract probably has the IR of methanol, water, and in addition, all the other compounds in the extract. Unless a compound comprises the majority of a crude extract, I would be surprised to see anything.

Jack Silver Dear sir I am interested to see the presence of amide, alcohols, phenols, alkanes, carboxylic acids, aldehydes, ketones,etc in different extract like methanol, chloroform, water & suppercritical (SCFE) extraction of plant chemicals using CO2 as solvent.

That is too complex for FTIR. The phenol, hydroxyl, and amide will all overlap, for example. You'll need to purify the mixture first.

It all depends whether your extract is in liquid or solid phase.

but what is the aim of taking ir for extract .It is obvious that you will see most of the peaks. You wont be able to take any inference
