Either that or specialized contained for waste CDCl3. In some organic labs they distill it to save some money on duterated solvents, though regenerated solvents always have high solvent peaks and aren't very good.
Its all important to know. Its terrible, but my lab has just one plastic 5L container, so i guess all the solvents are mixed together. Anyway, the students does not use Chloroform, just I am, so i just need to create a new container for Chlorinated Waste.
Could anyone suggest a proper disposal procedure of triethylamine
( How many ml or liter in a week or month?).
Can I dispose a TEA in non-chlorinated organic solvent waste?? (please define the organic mixture (e.g. ethanol , methanol, Toluol a.s.o p.e).
What are you doing with TEA? (Used for synthesis ?)
I you have a big amount of TEA after your practical laboratory course (after a week or month, you can distill TEA under vacuum and use later for another purpose (Bp 89°C normal pressure) .
Concerning CDCl3 . It is carcinogenic and teratogenic. The small quantities of your NMR tube can be tipped in a brown bottle as waste disposal. (contact your uni for waste disposal)
