Hi every body, I would like to have some studies about desert species adaptapility with other ecosystems! for lanscape, reforestation, agrisilviculture and/or agroforestry!
(climate, hydrological, geographical, edafological and etc. aspects)?
if somebody knows some refrences for Mexican desert species! i will be really greatfull tohave access to them.

This is a good question to consult or work with a botanist/ecologist knowledgeable with this topic. Ecological damage may occur by planting or sowing non-native species outside of their normal range, with possibility of transferring insects, disease, sometimes unknowingly spreading invasive species. If you plant and grow desert species elsewhere by trial and error, best to do under controlled conditions unless you can find information or advice as to appropriate adaptability.
I once heard a very interesting presentation by Moshe Cohan, converting a desert with dry streams back to a former historic forest with flowing streams. Each tree site was dug a depression to plant the tree in and capture rain. Unsure if that be your goal to obtain plants for transplanting back to the desert or something else.
An other example is the introduction of cactus of south america in Australia, were the descripcion of the colegue aplies very well . It was brought with out the natural controlers ( a lepidopter ) and became in big problem as an invasive in the desertes of that continent.
But in a point , many species are invasive naturaly, and always new balances ore found , as natures always do.

I could not complete my answer......so , Also study biomass accumulation pattern both above and below ground . Out planted seedlings if grow witout mortality and exhibit uniform development , you can be able to varify the adaptabiity of a particular species in a particular environment in three years after initial plating out.
