I want to make a homogeneous solution between a carbon nanotube single wall and a PMMA polymer to obtain a membrane of a certain thickness . I tried many steps with acetone, but the solution is not homogeneous.
what are your materials? If you have dry nanotubes, they are aggregated like all other dry nanoparticles and nanomaterials. You need to introduce a strong shear field to break the aggregates and let them disperse. It could be either a twin-screw extruder or a high-power ultrasonic tip. Low-power ultrasonic baths or a single screw extruder are insufficient.
Once dispersed, the dispersion stability and, consequently, the final homogeneity depend on the interaction between the solvent/polymer/particle. You may follow our studies for a more detailed description.

Hello my dear Actually I suggest :you must condensation monomer with CNT at temperature less than the degree of evaporation for monomer for 2 h. note : this method applied when you used monomer liquid or polymer with solvent
