Transwell invasion assay is very expensive for me and i need to perform invasion assay for cancer cells , how i can perform the assay using gelatin or collagen?
You could try to grow your cells on top of a solidified collagen/gelatin matrix for some time and analyze afterwards how many cells have migrated into the matrix?
Then you could either do sections to image the cells that have invaded the collagen or - maybe even simplier - remove the cells that are still on top of the matrix (trypsinization) and stain the invaded cells with, e.g., crystal violet or one of the many other dyes available. Doing so it could (maybe) even be possible to establish a quantification routine using a mikrotiterplate-reader?
