You need to write a simple UMAT code, in which the stress or strain data from every increment is used to determine several field variables that describe the kind of damage, e.g. fiber broken or inter-layer separation. These filed variables are related to the elastic properties of the material.

Tsai-Wu criteria is already available in abaqus. during defining material go to elasticity and choose lamina/ortho/aniso and in submenu define fail stress. Remember to call the failure components from CFAILURE in field output.
