The following reports clearly suggests that extensive testing is a crucial step in identifying the state of the infection in the country with outbreak. Accordingly, South korea, Singapore and Taiwan have proven that testing, tracing and treating is the best approach to flatten the COVID-19 curve.

Although the four T's you list are very important, they seem to miss the interventions that can be done early and that, unfortunately, have been done so sporadically in this pandemic: social/physical distancing, face masks - properly worn, and hand-washing/hand sanitizers. Furthermore, I'd like to see evidence that treating is a significant factor in flattening the epidemic curve of cases vs. the occurrence of deaths. Most persons who are infected and can participate in the chain of infection, i.e., contribute to increases in the epidemic curve, are asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic. Their treatment is "symptomatic" and that does not decrease their shedding of virus. Persons with more significant symptoms, but not requiring hospitalization, remove themselves from a lot of outside contact. One might consider that a form of physical distancing. And, then for the patients who do require hospitalization, there initially was poor understanding of the clinical nature of the infection, the importance of clotting which has led to anticoagulation, and the optimal way to manage low pO2. Furthermore, only recently have drugs such as remdesivir and dexamethasone been shown to have effectiveness in treating hospitalized patients.
