Hi everyone!

I was wondering whether LOT-R can be reliably used to measure changes in depression. If LOT-R is administered pre and post intervention, would it necessarily mean that if the optimism score on LOT-R after intervention increased, that would imply a decrease in depression. Similarly, if the pessimism score on the LOT-R increased, does that necessarily mean that depression has increased?

Is it correct to assume that dispositinal optimism is inveresly associated with depression?

Thank you

Ibrahim
