Digital or online education is the order of new normal situation due to the Covid 19 pandemic. There is no alternative! So we are forced to do it in that way. There are pros and cons for digital education. The advantages are we can overcome time and geographical limitations. The negative aspects we are not able to see the people and their physical presence is not seen. In my view taking a online class is only 50% effective since i am not able to use my entire body. while lecturing the body language convey lot of meaning the confidence gestures etc is missing online! Probably we have to evolve a better virtual platform for better experience!.
Digital education enhances both teaching and learning experiences, save time of teachers. Effective utilisation of digital tools would aid in tracking students progress, provide transparency in learning and teaching process. Major cause of concerns are social isolation among learners and students need strong self motivation besides managing time to adopt digital education. Conducting online assessment and evaluation is also a major concern while adopting various modes of digital education.
Blackboard teaching supreme. Digital Education provides effectiveness in constraints of time and depicts the information in a convincing way and reaccess the system. The situation made the world attend the same scenario.
The covid 19 situation demands digital education otherwise is not much effective compared to offline education. One can not teach Hands on skills/practicals especially some subjects like soil science. Some part theory with good digital techniques we can teach effectively. I too agree that both pros and cons .
Solution for the need of the hour. Robust infrastructure resources seamless operation of online perhaps parallelly BLACKBOARD education more efficient between students teacher one-to-one relation.
Yes it is effective during pandemic situation. But the agricultural and medical students how they will acquire the skills without any practical activity.
Agricultural and Medical students' practical activity perspective simulator is a vital role in digital education. The situation becomes a return to normal then regular practicals means.
This is a very interesting question and I thought it was even more interesting when I was recently told that many interns (just finished medicine at university, in their first year after qualification) discontinued after a few months and did not practice in medicine again. It was thought that the experience of so-called real work in medicine was so different to their ideas when they were in university.
I wonder if this also happened to agricultural students and those in other areas as well…?
