Pre-B lymphoid progenitors/hematogones (CD34+, CD10+, CD19+) that exhibit the size and light scatter characteristics of small lymphocytes are occasionally detectable in mobilized Peripheral Blood and PBSC collections. Although always present in significant numbers in BM and most CB samples, when present in PBSC samples such subsets are usually very small. However, on occasion, the Pre-B subset can be quite large so if your target CD34+ cell numbers are say, 2.5 x 10e6/Kg, are any adjustments made in this scenario?

Does your flow cytometery lab make any attempt to measure these cells when present and if so how? What is done with this information when collected?
