How does one obtain an alumina coating over a glass chip by the sol gel method?

Looking for a simple and straightforward method.

Here is an easy method that uses Aluminum-tri-sec-butoxide as a precursor to coat silica particles with alumina. Please refer to examples 1,2 and 8. Best of luck.
