I am at the same time a wife, a mum of two cute angels, an ict engineer working full time, a contractual assistant working part time and a PhD student who will graduate next year.
If there is any researcher that shares with me such situation or has such situation colleagues, please I invite you to share with us how to create equilibria between such different and simultaneous situations :)
Oh ... equlilibrium is not possible if you are doing PhD , even if you have supernatural powers. Doing research is different than doing PhD. If your PhD guide is really guiding you then some how you can have less frustration.
I never give suggestion to anyone to do PhD after having family. My experience is from India , I dont know about othet countries.
I highly respect such industrious women! God bless them richly. Many of such brave women are great disciplinarians as their diverse tasks often require great self-control.
just live each day as it comes, trusting God for grace not to fail at any front. know that you are not a superman allow time for rest, it will be very tasking now but i bet its toughening you. i must say you are really courageous

I was a doctoral student at The University of Michigan, with two very young children, and this led directly into the reality of moving into a tenure-track for career security while also seeking grant support for many research projects. It was always difficult and required me to compartmentalize my life and be as efficient as possible with a. children, b. spouse, c. university expectations for teaching & service & publication, d. trying to remain sane. Adding a terminal degree to full time - everything else is courageous. I hope you have good support!
