Does anyone know how the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) helps to bleach the fluorescence signal in the brain slices? I tried to search online but could not find any helpful page though..
Thanks!
Hydrogen peroxide will bleach fluorescence signal by oxidizing the molecules/complex responsible for emitting fluorescence.
Hi Kübra, are you aiming to bleach background autofluorescence due to aldehyde fixation of brain tissues?
You could try sodium borohydride (NBH4), which reduces fluorescencent carbonyl compounds caused by aldehyde fixation.
