Fourrier transformation especially Fast fourrier Transform (FFT) is used by technology like 4G LTE and 5G New radio on the air interface for the transportation of user data in Both Uplink and Downlink. Without Fourrier work may be we wouldn't have 4G and 5G as we know now.

Fourrier transformation is also use in WLAN technology, old WIMAX (which is abandonned now) and in DVB, which is the protocol governing Digital television systems.

So fourrier transformation which allow to have sub carrier is a key element in actual digital communication systems.
