I'm interested in the production of insulin at a lab-scale. I read some papers about the topic. One of them mentioned autocleavage of the proinsulin without any enzymatic cleavage. But they didn't give any references or details about that. I sent emails to them but they didn't write anything. I just wonder how does autocleavage of proinsulin occurs? Could you help me with that, please? Are there any references or protocols about that?
